Science Club *Movie* Update

Hello Freedom Families,
I wanted to share a quick update and reflection about our seasonal movie choices.
Originally, I selected a few “classic” Halloween movies to celebrate the season. After a kind nudge from a parent, and some reflection of my own - I realized that while these films are often considered family favorites, they don’t fully align with the type of energy and learning I want to cultivate in our classroom.
I’m shifting our focus toward a more Science-based, curiosity-driven approach, and with that, we’ll be watching two Magic School Bus episodes instead: “Going Batty” and “In the Haunted House.” These episodes connect perfectly to both the season and our ongoing learning about observation, exploration, and cause-and-effect.
This change is part of a broader intention to raise the vibration of what we invite into our space - to offer stories that engage minds, not just entertain. I also want to model integrity for the children: sometimes we make choices and later realize there’s a better way forward. Changing direction with purpose and understanding is different from changing on a whim - it’s an act of alignment.
Thank you for supporting this evolution. I’m always learning alongside the students, and I’m grateful for a community that encourages reflection and growth.
Sincerely,
Teacher Hannah
